Busy Body

Look who is climbing up stairs!  Turkey!

Also Jane made a visit to the rehab center to show off her costume to Grandma and do some cheering.

And I couldn't help wanting my own photo with Dorothy - she is so cute!

Checkup

Jane's 9-month checkup with the doctor was this morning, and her doctor Melanie dressed up as Alice in Wonderland! Jane kept eying her big curly blond wig and giving her bashful smiles.  How cool is it to have your checkup done by Alice?  Jane is hitting right at the 50% mark on her head, weight, and height. Okay, one of those was 40%, but I can't remember which.  Basically she's average on all of the measurements, and looking pretty healthy otherwise.  But maybe I should have asked the doctor if it's okay for her to sleep with her tush up in the air!  Silly baby.

Dress Rehearsal

Today Jane tried on her Halloween outfit and had some fun with Toto.

If you have been paying attention, you'll notice this is the third day that Jane has appeared in this jumper. If you haven't, then I am just silly for pointing it out. You can tell that things have been crazy around here when the poor baby can't get a change of clothes. But you can see there's a bath here... and therefore a new outfit in her future! Hurray!

9 months old

Jane has started to practice standing up! She hoists herself up into a surfer pose, and usually she can do it for about two seconds, but the other day I saw her stand up all by herself for seven seconds! The very first time she did it I may have screamed in delight and scared her silly. Sorry, baby!

Jane thinks bath time is totally fun!

Is that comfortable?

I often come in to find Jane asleep with her knees tucked under her, and her little tushie sticking up in the air.  I think after we lay her down she might kneel and cry for awhile, and finally she just bends over and falls asleep. What a silly girl!

Last night when I went in to check on Jane, I found her like this:

Sweet Pea

Today in church while someone was being confirmed, Jane thought instead of crying it would be fun to giggle, laugh, and squeal in glee!  It is so hard to be irritated with her when she is just so darn adorable.

Jane has a tiny bit of bedhead in this picture. The measuring cup is our Baby Distraction Device when she doesn't want to eat her dinner.  Today she had sweet potatoes, which was her first time.  She is pretty good about trying new foods, it seems like she's eager to explore.

Bright eyes

Jane is really climbing. She realized that the stairs are perfect for pulling herself up, but she hasn't yet figured out how to go up them. Heaven help us when she does!

I love this little outfit of hers. I think I got it when we first found out the baby was a girl.

She is so wonderful!

Adventure

We had an interesting adventure with Uncle Adam today.  I'll tell more about it on our family blog.

Jane is also amazing at pulling herself up these days.  She is no longer content with just sitting and crawling - now she must be standing up!  How are we ever going to keep up with her?

Splashes

Jane has splashed a little bit in the tub before, but today she realized that it can be FUN!

Also, when Jane gets tired, she gets a little slap happy.  It is fun to take advantage of these times.

Jane spent several minutes today crawling around the room with this green thing sticking out of her mouth.

October shirt

I saw this shirt in the store and pointed it out to Michael.  He made the "Well now we have to buy it" face and threw it into the cart.  I love it when he makes that face.  I also love this shirt!
