March 29

I took Jane to the doctor this morning for her 2 month visit. She now weighs 9 lbs and 9 oz! She's in the 25th percentile for height and weight. She had to get three shots, which was sad. Afterward when she was crying, I picked her up and said, "Who did that to you? I'll get them!" which the made the nurse laugh. It was lost on Jane, though. Party pooper.


She's been asleep all day since she had the shots, it's a bit alarming.
Poor girl.

Birthday party

Jane had fun at Keala's birthday party! She even got dressed up!


She got lots of attention from her cousins!




Aunt Erika held Jane until she stopped crying, and then everyone else could hold her! Thanks Erika!

We also took Jane on her first stroller ride today, but we didn't get any pictures. It was a little chilly, but she was bundled up pretty good. Jane is quite the busy body!

March 27

I missed my first day yesterday! So there's no photo of Jane from March 26th. That day will go sadly undocumented forever... sniff.
Anyway, today we had a baby shower in the morning, then went to Dallin and Cameron's play (the wizard of OZ), then to a DELICIOUS dinner at pf Chang's, then I dropped Jane at home for an hour and ran three more errands before Michael had to go to work! All of that ran from 10:30am to 8:45pm. It was another big day!

March 24th

8 weeks old today!

Last night Jane slept from 7:30pm to 4:30am! That's 9 hours! And she didn't even cry when she woke up... bizarre. And then she slept for most of the day, and she fell asleep tonight at 9:30. Think I have any chance of her sleeping 'till 6:30am? Yeah me neither, but either way I think she is well rested!

Mom stopped by while I was at work today, and I guess she had some things to talk over with Jane!

Big Day

Today Jane went to the library, the museum, and Eli Kirk to meet some of my current and former co-workers, and some of Michael's too! We were dang tired afterward.

March 21st

I thought this was Jane falling asleep for the night, but I can hear her fussing just now.

March 19th

Manicure

Michael painted Jane's fingernails blue today. She seems to like it.



Why did he paint Jane's fingernails blue? Beats me.

March 17th

Jane had just finished eating when she rolled her head back like this and laid there like "Ahhhhhh..." for a few moments. She wasn't asleep, she was just chillin!

Hard day's night

Jane is having a hard night. But I think she'll sleep pretty good! Once she does fall asleep...

We took her to her first movie today. Not that she saw much of it. We went to see Alice in Wonderland, and she obligingly slept through the whole thing. So considerate!

The Ides of March

Did you know the "Ides of March" is the 15th of March? Me neither. But today was actually a good day, so I didn't have anything to be wary of.


Jane laughed in her sleep today for the first time. I almost had a heart attack I was so delighted. I can't wait for her to laugh again!

Friday

I made it through my first week of work. It was good but sad. Tonight Jane fell DEAD asleep by 10:50pm, she was wide awake by 11:10pm, and she has been wiggling quietly on the couch for the last 20 minutes. I wonder what she's thinking about.

Shake, Rattle & Roll

Jane got a fun rattle from grandpa!


I didn't think that she would be able to hold onto it or play with it for a bit longer, until tonight when I uncurled her fingers and stuck the rattle inside, and she started shaking away! You have to understand that I haven't seen her do anything more than sleep and expel fluids, and suddenly she was HOLDING something and SHAKING it! I grabbed the camera immediately, and in this video you can hear my first responses to seeing my daughter do something for the first time: I was thrilled.


Can you imagine how I'll react when she does something like laugh or walk or talk? I might pass out.

Answer for Nikki: I work 20 hours a week in the evenings and Michael watches her while I'm at work.
