I finally got the bouncy chair set up today and we are all enjoying it. Jane likes pointing out the fish and bubbles to Colin.

Colin getting comfy at grandma's house :)
Today was Michael's first day back at work since we had the baby. It was hard on both of us! I learned that it is hard to watch two kids if you didn't sleep at all the night before! But somehow we made it through and Colin and I visited with my sisters and grandma in the evening.

Sick day
Jane spent last night throwing up. Poor girl has the stomach flu. Colin is being sympathetic by sleeping for the entire day, along with Jane.

Jane holding Colin
Jane LOVES to hold Colin. She is so gentle with him. At the bottom of this post is a video of me trying to get Jane to say "Cuuuute" like she does sometimes when we're talking about Colin. She didn't say it, but what she did say was pretty darn cute anyway.

Jane's first haircut
That's right. In all of Jane's 2 and 3/4 years we have never cut her hair. But it's been getting a bit unruly lately and so we took her to our friend Kelly to have a little trim and a few layers put in.
Jane was such a good girl and sat still for the entire cut. Kelly was very impressed! I explained that Jane takes her beauty regimen very seriously. =)
Jane needed to look down for a lot of the cut, and she did such a good job!
Kelly put in some mousse to make her curls stand out a bit, and then she added some silver sparkles! Jane looked beautiful.
Jane's hair doesn't look drastically different, but we didn't want to cut too much off the bottom because we were afraid of losing her sweet curls at the bottom of her hair. But now it's a little cleaner and Jane had fun - for the rest of the day she kept asking for, "cut my hair? Again?"
Colin and Daddy came for the haircut, too. I'm pretty sure it was Colin's first time leaving the house since we got home from the hospital. Thankfully it was a quick trip because Mommy is still hurting a bit, and I was happy to get back home and rest again. Here's your Colin fix for the day:

First Bath
My wonderful doula, Katherine, came over today for a follow-up visit and kindly gave Colin his first bath. Michael and I were standing by with the camera, of course.

One week old today
Colin is one week old today. I think it's a very special milestone, but unfortunately mommy is having some physical problems today that are keeping me from fully appreciating the day. Hopefully I can get back to enjoying baby soon.

Day 6
Jane seems so mature and responsible to me now. Today she fawned over the baby, talking to him in baby talk, touching and kissing him, and giving him hugs and tickles. She does it all so delicately, she barely touches him. I was walking past Michael in the hall today, and he asked me if the baby was sleeping, and Jane (just down the hall) said, "No, he's having wake-time." lol. I didn't even realize she knew our term for when Colin's awake. Jane still has toddler difficulties, power struggles and such, but where Colin is concerned she is very patient and caring. I have such great kids. :)

Colin smiles all the time. I'm not sure why but it sure is super cute.
Today he was visited by his aunties Nikki and Jacque!

9/15
This is around 1:30 in the morning. I had just laid him back in the bassinet. It's hard to go without sleep but at least I get to spend the time with a sweet little boy.

Before Jane's bedtime, she wanted to snuggle with Colin while she drank her milk. I asked if she wanted to hold his hand and she reached her hand over to hold his. It's hard to see but his hand is tucked between mine and hers. She is a good big sister. =)

Day 2
We finally decided on Colin's name today and as soon as we did I made sure to tell the nurses so they could make the name tag for his bassinet. So cute!
